Digitising Catch Up with VVOB

Mwabu was recently awarded a tender contract by VVOB Zambia to digitise the Catch Up training materials for teachers and set up an online/offline platform to make the materials available. As part of this project, materials for Catch Up mentors, an introduction to Catch Up for school leaders and Ministry of Education (MoE) officials as well as a refresher course will also be included on the digital platform.

The goal is to make training materials more easily accessible, at a lower cost than face-to-face training, so teachers can access Catch Up training materials when they need to and the programme can continue sustainably.

The development process will include close collaboration with VVOB, MoE and other stakeholders such as Teaching Council Zambia (TCZ) and Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) Africa.

We look forward to sharing the first drafts with VVOB during October and following feedback from all stakeholders, pilot three approaches during January 2026. After the pilot final amendments will be made to content, prior to validation by the MoE.
